Highlights of the changes include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>reducing red tape by removing requirements for corporations and officials to provide notices and other documents to the Registrar of Corporations in matters focused solely on the internal business of the corporation;</li>\n<li>removing the existing rule that requires at least 25% of directors to be Canadian residents;</li>\n<li>clarifying that a corporation&rsquo;s name may be in Cree or Den&eacute;;</li>\n<li>expressly allowing for the use of electronic technology, such as sending notice of shareholder meetings electronically and holding electronic meetings;</li>\n<li>updating provisions respecting the Corporate Registry to more accurately reflect current processes for the registration of corporations and the filing of documents;</li>\n<li>implementing new provisions respecting the disclosure of information to investigative&nbsp;bodies relating to persons with significant control of a corporation.
